Most problems have a quick fix, listed below. If yours isn't here, email support@followusai.com with the page's address, what Vidzilla showed, and your Chrome version (chrome://version).
Getting started
- How do I save a video?
- Play the video, click the Vidzilla mark in Chrome's toolbar, pick a quality if there's a choice, and press the download button. The file goes to your Downloads folder, named after the page.
- I can't see the Vidzilla mark
- Click the puzzle piece in Chrome's toolbar and pin Vidzilla, so it stays next to the address bar.
- Which browsers does it work in?
- Google Chrome 116 or later, on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Vidzilla is free, with no account and no limits.
When something doesn't work
- The popup says "No videos found yet"
- Vidzilla finds video by watching what the page loads, so start playing it first, then open the popup again. If the video was already playing before you installed Vidzilla, reload the page and play it again.
- A video is greyed out with a lock
- It's protected by DRM (Netflix, Disney+ and similar services). Vidzilla never saves protected video and won't try to get around it.
- The download stopped or failed
- Many sites issue links that expire after a while. Reload the page, play the video for a moment, and save it again. Vidzilla resumes downloads that drop, but it can't renew a link the site has expired.
- It offers Record instead of a download
- Some players hide their stream. Record reloads the page and keeps what the player loads, from the start. Let the video play to the end, or press Stop when you have what you need.
- A live stream keeps going
- Live streams are recorded until you press Stop or the broadcast ends.
- The file has no sound, or the sound is out of sync
- Some sites send sound and picture separately; Vidzilla joins them. If a saved file still plays wrong, email us the page's address so we can look at that site.
- Where did my file go?
- Into Chrome's Downloads folder. The gear in the popup opens settings, where you can choose a subfolder, turn on Chrome's save dialog, change how files are named, and see every file you've saved.
- A pasted link on this site won't save
- The paste box only works with links straight to a video file or an .m3u8 stream, and only when the site hosting it lets other websites read it. For anything else, use the extension.
